Choppy Video Playback through VLC and others.
Atomic – Jun 26, 2007
Look this is a problem that has been shitting me off for a while now. Winamp and MPC won’t even play video files and Media Player 11 is just completely FUCKED. I have reinstalled my vid card drivers the latest CCCP codec pack the latest VLC (supposed to be Vista compatible). And so on and so forth. I have even killed any unnecessary tasks and system processes (Toshiba bloatware etc) to try and free up more memory… Why not uninstall it all and just put Divx XVid and whatever else you need on individually. Also try it with and without hardware video acceleration.

TIRED The battery lasts just 2. 75 hours when you’re watching a DVD. Low-resolution iPod videos appear washed out while high-resolution DVD video can be pixilated.

Images can be uberzoomed. Windows-crashing VoIP feature can be used for interoffice pranks ? fun! TIRED Included video-converting software is PC-only and finicky (converted DivX XviD Quicktime files but not WMV). No video compression options 20 FPS only. Confusing button layout combined with primitive menu system requires two hands to browse files. Can?t listen to music while reading text or viewing images. Included earphones aren?t so hot.

Early reports indicate a high-hackablity quotient. TIRED The video quality of Apple content is poor especially for a device meant to work with HD screens. It doesn?t play formats like DivX or Xvid and the Apple remote is a little limited for the job. The 40-GB hard drive can?t sync large content libraries.

Computing and communications may still be in the increase phase and may plateau when the physical limits of computational miniaturization are reached. But in two decades he predicts that consumers will have access to terabytes of storage. That’s enough to store a live DivX video stream — compressed a lot relative to a DVD but the same overall resolution — of everything I look at for a year including time I spend sleeping or in the bathroom. It’s a life log; replay it and you’ve got a journal file for my life. Ten euros a year in 2027 or maybe a thousand euros a year in 2017.
