The memory card specialist will now be allowed to incorporate DivX Stage 6 technology into its Sansa line of media players. Although products are not expected to be announced by SanDisk until later this year the vendor claimed the agreement will provide its customers with access to a library of professional and user-generated video content in the DivX format. DivX Stage 6 is a You Tube-style website that lets anyone upload download view and share videos across a range of formats. The agreement will help strengthen SanDisk’s Sansa standing in the market and potentially grow the DivX Stage 6 user base.

For videos you have the built-in Real Player which can play streams and many video and audio formats. Having a fully-fledged operating system the Nokia can also receive additional plugins for audio and video. The third party application market is overwhelming: you can even get full-screen DivX and XviD playback with subtitles and all. Since this is already getting extremely long i’ll conclude this first part with the input methods. While the iPhone is truly revolutionary the Nokia is pretty conservative. This makes everything but typing more enoyable on the iPhone though you always have to use both hands. Nokia has the huge advantage of a full physical QWERTY board.

The software is a little persnickety but there are already a few hacks that help. ne removes the whoel “guest” login thign so you can have full control of the zune on any PC (work and home for me). And another trick that makes it convert AVIs and one that makes it do divx and xvid. Something it sadly doesn’t do by default. The radio is nice for work but I’m in the subway a lot so haven’t really used it. ne little thing that I really appreciate is that it can be plugged into the PC and you can still listen to it. My GF was doing the audio book thing while at work and cant very well keep like 5-10 gigs of mp3 on her hard drive here so would listen to her ipod.
