The Zen plays not just the standard MP3 and WMA formats it also plays back the new iTunes Plus format (songs sold by the online iTunes store but without any copy protection). Sound quality is good as expected and it's rated for 25hours of audio playback. For video it plays your MPEG4 Divx and Xvid formats. What's rather annoying is that most of the Divx videos I tried to import in had to be converted to work on the Zen. The conversion process is simple (using the bundled software) but is time consuming about 15 to 20 min for a half-hour video. It also doubles up as a photo viewer and the 16. 7-million colour screen offers great contrast and smooth gradations for both still and movingimages.

With a sleek black finish and a host of options including a hidden USB port for easy connectivity of an iPod or other USB-capable device XM capability wireless speaker capability and support for DivX the HT-TX75 will immediately strike you as a capable product. Not only did I appreciate just one trip to the system but the remote’s disc skip button basically allowed me to be lazy and sit in my chair when we were ready to watch the next movie. That said there is no easy way to know which film is next and I sometimes found myself waiting for each movie to load before I could decide if that was the intended disc.
