MPEG-4′s audio compression system Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) was adopted by Apple in its iTunes service making it a potential heir to MP3. Although it is still the favourite for BitTorrent movie downloads DivX is now a fully professional format. In its first incarnation it was called the DivX ;-) Codec but now it’s just DivX for Windows.

3ivx and XviDIt’s more than a coincidence that XviD looks like DivX backwards. Both XviD and the current version of DivX were developed from the same pen Source MPEG-4 project. Where DivX went commercial.

Yep I do this frequently whilst I am at work – it relies on some software like TightVNC or similar. However it won’t be fast enough for your 3D games.
