The player managed to read all the formats it supports. n playback a few glitches were noticed with some of the earlier codecs. The Q5W failed to play DivX 3 Fast files. The rest of the supported format files played well. “Then your online strategy isn’t worth the bits it’s transmitting on. You have two options (both free):- Watch it on the network’s website in glorious 200×300 wmv colour with the same amount of irritating on-screen ads PLUS the ads on the site streaming it every time you want to see it. – Download it in full-HD DivX to keep forever. Here’s a suggestion to the networks:Let me pay you per season per show for exclusive full-res NN-DRMed downloads of a show that I can download in about double the time it takes to watch them. No ad popups no “coming up next” no promoting other shows. Just the equivalent of a DVD rip that I can download right after it airs.

The quality of the display is also commendable especially given the price of the laptop. The vertical viewing angle is a little limited so you’ll need to adjust the horizontal tilt to get the picture just right. Still the horizontal viewing angle is wide enough to allow two users to watch a DivX movie side-by-side in relative comfort.
