However can we have a single multi platform bloated piece o crap please we don’t want any choice we like Flash granted it’s getting worse (for the end user) with every release but hey ho we don’t want competition after all Netcape navigator was fantastic and look what Microsoft did to that !What do you want really? ne company dominating or choice?ITV Catchup. By Geoff Johnson Posted Thursday 5th June 2008 07:40 GMTWhen I sent an e-mail complaining that they use Silverlight for their catchup service I got a stock minimum spec. reply back no hint of an apology or a "we’re working on a proper Flash or DivX version"For a commercial organization like ITV to be using such a poorly adopted plugin they must either be getting paid by MS or (and this is my theory) they are just showing willing with the catch up TV but have no intention of allowing it to succeed. If only the budget PC had jump-started a Linux ecosystem here
Bangkok Post – Jun 4, 2008
Not only is it free but much more capable and scalable than a regular analogue PABX. Yes it is not straightforward to configure but that is where the value added service comes in. r a home media streaming vault that recodes DivX to XviD so it can stream to a bog standard Xbox 360? Point to point email encryption box (surely needed now that someone is doing weird things with the Internet). But none of this is happening. People in Thailand’s IT malls are scavenging for a living with pirated Windows and people with brains are focussed on applying cracks to circumvent copy protection rather than building an open source economy. This could have been so different if the budget PC stuck with Linux five years ago. But then again if it had done so perhaps this writer would never have ended up writing for the Bangkok Post what is surely one of the most satisfying jobs in the world and he would not be thanking his loyal readers for all the constructive criticism and support they have given him over these past five years as he is doing now.
