There are nine models in the Panasonic VIERA Z1 V10 and G15 series which allow full 1080p resolutions with DivX video formats output directly onto the TV by the TV’s built-in encoder and a front-load media slot. n a 4GB media card using DivX compression over six hours of video are possible. The DivX content can also be streamed to the TV directly off a DLNA server allowing the PC to serve as a host for video favorites played on the TV.

I guess there is much more reason to get those terabyte-class external hard drives and storage solutions now while keeping your computer on all night long to download full HD movies (just make sure these are legit copies and not bootlegs – we don’t condone piracy here at Coolest Gadgets) in DivX format for viewing later in the living room. Despite these times of economic hardship some of us would still find that upgrading a TV to keep up with the Joneses (or just to have a better home entertainment experience) is at the top of the priority list and Panasonic hopes to have a HDTV for every budget with their new VIERAs. The Z1 V10 and G15 series will consist of nine different models and all of them will incorporate its next-generation plasma display panels (PDPs) known as NeoPDP technology to offer superior picture quality higher efficiency and thinner dimensions. Thinner dimensions are good – as the world’s population continues to grow urban areas get more and more crowded so the lack of breathing space among the populace will indirectly result in smaller living room for all so thin displays are more than welcome.

MWC: Samsung Infuses Mobile Phones With Touch DivX Support

This week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona the company launched four new handsets the most high-end of which can record high-definition video files at 720p resolution. (Alas none of the new phones are named after action verbs. )The mnia HD i8910 sports a 3. 7-inch AMLED touch screen DivX video capability and a TV-out feature. That means the mnia HD could be the first phone that functions as a genuine HD portable media player for use with a living room television. Samsung also equipped the mnia HD with an eight-megapixel camera a GPS radio with geo-tagging capability a HSDPA 7. 2 data radio and support for software widgets.
