Philips Unveils £150 Blu-Ray Player With BD-Live

Significantly the BDP3000 is one of the cheapest Blu-ray player to come with BD Live. This allows content from the internet to be downloaded and stored on non-volatile storage although the BDP3000 apparently has none. But you should be able to connect USB storage devices and the player is capable of decoding DiVX video files. Philips has also managed to bring down the power consumption in standby mode to 0. 5w all wrapped in a great design and a slimline body measuring just 435x58x308 mm.

Web-enhanced functionality comes with the ability to stream videos (including HD) from YouTube with a favourites option listen to internet radio stations view photos on Flickr and browse web content from sites such as Yahoo with support for RSS feeds. The Elite will also act as a BitTorrent client for P2P downloads. File formats supported include DivX and XviD as well as DVD image (IS) and MKV files and there’s effective 1080p upscaling for standard-def video. AV performance is excellent; the Elite had no problem buffering and playing back DivX Xvid and 720p MP4 camcorder files relayed wirelessly via our Wireless N router. Even 1080p playback was smooth. The Elite is pricey and lacks some of the features found on rival devices (like TV tuners) but it’s easy to use with decent overall performance. Follow TechRadar Reviews on Twitter:.

The M1 is no budget-friendly PMP by the looks of it: 3. 3-inch AMLED touchscreen DMB TV and Nvidia Tegra! It’ll play DivX no problem and who knows what Samsung has in store for this device with the built-in accelerometer.
